Volunteer service

41The Ethiopian Society of Winnipeg provides a central coordinating body for individuals interested in volunteering within the Ethiopian community. Would you like to offer your skills and interests, or learn some new ones, while providing meaningful service to the Ethiopian community? Contact us if you are interested in participating:

  • As an assistant who provides one-on-one tutoring or service to a student and older adult in an after school program
  • As a mentor who helps newcomers and Canadian born Ethiopians set goals and choose career
  • As a translator or interpreter to various Ethiopian languages
  • As an English conversation class facilitator for newcomer Ethiopians who have low literacy in English language
  • As a settlement facilitator that helps Newcomer Ethiopians to integrate into the mainstream culture of Canadian society
  • As a special event planning committee member
  • As a helper at occasional special events

We have qualified volunteers that will provide you any sponsorship or settlement issues.
